My Designed Thesis

My final year thesis explores whether contemporary graphic designers only appreciate letterpress for its beauty, as appose to its process, thus asking the question: ‘Do 21st century graphic designers value letterpress beyond its aesthetic?’.

To design my physical thesis, I letterpress printed the Abstract section, and digitally printed the rest to compare the processes. I used wood type to print the word ‘PROCESS’ across the front and back cover which wraps around the book, and the marks on the printed letters begin to introduce the idea of the letterpress aesthetic.
